What can I expect at my first class?
Expect to sweat! Expect help! Expect community! We strive to make every step of our studio comfortable and inviting. All classes at Beets Cycle Barre are designed to challenge at every level. We offer modifications and challenges for everyone, regardless of experience or ability. Please let your instructor know if you have any injuries or concerns prior to class, and feel free to ask us any questions before or after class.
Do you offer a monthly membership?
Yes. BEETS does offer memberships. It does require a minimum monthly commitment. Alternatively, you can also buy as many or as few classes as you like through our "punch card" class passes. If you want to buy one class, that's fine. But, if you're riding regularly, our larger class passes and monthly memberships offer a price discount per class.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes. BEETS gift certificates are called "gift cards". They never expire and the person you are giving them to can use his or her gift cards to buy classes or any kind of merchandise. Once a class is purchased using a gift card, it will expire just like any other class purchased.
What if I can't do everything in the class? I haven't worked out in a while.
One of the best things about indoor cycling and barre is that it can be adapted to any fitness level. With the ability to adjust the resistance level on the bike, and control your own pace in barre, the workout can suit each individual's abilities. With every class comes increased confidence and strength, so we encourage first timers to go at their own pace and have fun.
Is there a beginner class?
From time to time, we offer a class called BEETS101. But, if we're not offering it when you're looking to ride or do barre - don't worry! We have new people in almost every BEETS class.
How is BEETS different from the cycling classes offered at my gym?
BEETS is a full body indoor cycling workout. We ride to the beat of the music and incorporate upper body exercises into our workout. We focus all our energy on our classes and our clients alone. Large gyms simply can't do everything without focusing on a few things like BEETS.
How many calories are burned per class?
It depends on the weight of the individual and the amount of exertion used. Research indicates that on average, indoor cyclists can burn from 500-700 calories in a vigorous 45-minute workout.
Can I join if I am pregnant?
We have had many pregnant women who are able to join us right up until their due date, but we recommend you check with your doctor before doing any activity at BEETS.
Do cycling shoes really make a difference and if so, what type should I get?
Cycling shoes offer a more secure position in the pedals enabling the cyclist to work much more efficiently. Pedal strokes become more powerful and allow you to target the correct muscle groups. We recommend "Look Delta" cleats for our bike pedals, and include shoes for every class if you don't have your own. We also have a selection of shoes from Specialized Bicycles available for purchase if desired.
My friends and I want to take our first class together. Do we need to create our own accounts to sign up?
Yes, each new rider must create an account and fill out a New Rider Waiver Form (available in studios) before their first class. The friendly staff at BEETS can get you registered, or you can do it online.
Minor Waivers: Minors must have a parent or guardian sign their waiver in studio.
Do you have childcare in the studio?
